Columbus, OH Hands Off Protest 4/5/25 (Statehouse)

On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, I ventured out into harsh weather conditions - a day marked by relentless wind and cold rain. Despite the gloomy atmosphere, what I witnessed was remarkable. The sheer number of people who chose to brave these uncomfortable conditions to make their voices heard was inspiring.

This protest, alongside similar demonstrations across Ohio and the nation, clearly shows growing public discontent with our country's current direction. The diverse crowd that gathered was truly remarkable - people from every background, ethnicity, and economic class stood united in purpose. What I captured in these photographs represents just a fraction of this powerful display of American unity.

The determination was visible on every face, regardless of the weather. Protesters stood shoulder to shoulder, sharing umbrellas and words of encouragement. Some carried signs that became soggy in the rain, but their messages remained clear and their spirits undiminished. Even as the cold wind whipped around us, the sense of community and shared purpose kept everyone moving forward.

What struck me most was the diversity of ages present - from elderly citizens who had seen decades of social movements to young parents with children in tow, all united in their commitment to make their voices heard. This wasn't just a protest; it was a vivid demonstration of democracy in action, showing that when Americans feel strongly about an issue, neither rain nor cold can deter them from standing up for what they believe in.
